September 26, 2022 by Rachel Heath in travel

The Tastemaker’s Le Marais Travel Itinerary

Whether you’ve visited Le Marais before or you’re gearing up for your first Parisienne adventure – this play-by-play will ensure you have “le parfait” day in the heart of Paris.

Since we ever so kindly planned out meals for you – all you’ll have to do is pick from our curated list of local shops, exhibits, and activities to fill in the space between eats – “choose your own adventure” style!

Café Crème from Loustic.

MORNING CUP

CAFE LOUSTIC

OUR ORDER

Café Crème

“Espresso with steamed milk.”

Croissant

FIELD NOTES

Located what feels like steps from the Centre Pompidou – Loustic boasts some of the coziest, most impeccably designed corners in the city – ideal for escaping inevitable Parisian rain showers. Sip on a Café Crème and split a croissant with a lover or friend before popping over to nearby museums and galleries early to beat the crowds.

BREAKFAST

CAFE BERRY

OUR ORDER

Granola Maison

“Homemade organic granola (gluten free), poached figs with vanilla, blackberries, Mirabelle plums, fig syrup, with Greek yogurt or oat milk.”

Golden Latte

“Milk of choice, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and red Kampot pepper.”

FIELD NOTES

Cafe Berry is the perfect spot for petit déjeuner (breakfast) due to their seasonal ingredients, housemade staples, and superfood lattes that provide a welcomed balance in a city full of many baguette-forward culinary offerings.

LUNCH

BIG BOSS

OUR ORDER

Banh Mi Vegan

“Vietnamese sandwich with carrots, cucumber, cilantro, tofu, and vegan mayo”

Bo Bun Chay

“Vegetarian egg rolls, salad, carrots, cucumbers, fried tofu, peanuts, and vermicelli.”

Saigon Bottled Beer

FIELD NOTES

Big Boss offers both style and sustenance – creating super fresh offerings of impeccably crafted Vietnamese cuisine, as well as, ultra-affordable apéritifs all inside of their charmingly hip restaurant.

GOÛTER (SNACK)

GRAMME

OUR ORDER

Seasonal Rustic Tartelette

Cappuccino or Espresso

FIELD NOTES

Gramme is a beloved neighborhood spot known for “Cuisine Parisienne” – compiled of an exquisite pastry selection and thoughtfully crafted dishes that celebrate what’s regionally ripe. We like to grab the best looking seasonal confection from their case and an espresso drink “to stay” – or opt for “to-go” to enjoy from a nearby park bench, if seating is full.

DINNER

HAPPY NOUILLES

OUR ORDER

菜面Légumes variés aux lamens

“Mixed vegetables with fresh hand pulled noodles.”

菜心Cœur de choux à l'ail

“Cabbage heart with garlic.”

FIELD NOTES

Upon arrival, you’ll likely notice Happy Nouilles’ skillful chefs hand pulling noodles from behind the glow of the restaurant’s large front window – showcasing the level of care and craft that is about to go into your next meal. We suggest visiting this spot between usual meal times – as it can become quite busy with both locals and visitors, alike.

DESSERT

LA BRICIOLA

OUR ORDER

Tiramisu

“Coffee Tiramisu.”

Panna Cotta

“Panna cotta with red fruits or caramel.”

Glass of House Red Wine

FIELD NOTES

La Briciola is a rustically romantic place to grab a housemade Italian dessert and a glass of red wine but recommend coming back again specifically for their warm olives, Neapolitan pizzas, and Royal Martini.

NIGHTCAP

CANDELARIA

OUR ORDER

Sweet Selection – Amora Preta

“Tequila, elderflower, and blackberry.”

Savory Selection – La Guepe Verte

“Chili infused tequila, cucumber, coriander, agave syrup, and lime.”

FIELD NOTES

A literal hole in the wall tequila speakeasy – you’ll enter Candelaria through the secret backdoor of their taqueria and immediately feel a few levels cooler than you already are as you savor a craft cocktail from the candlelit darkness of what feels like an abandoned cave.
